Sadako is collecting this line of books called My Busy Books. They’re really cool because each book comes with 12 action toy figures and a mat where you can put them (a post on them soon).

So far, Sadako already has My Little Pony, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, Paw Patrol, Barbie, and Sophia the First My Busy Books.

When Sadako got confined in the hospital last week because of dengue, she requested for me to get her the Disney Princesses My Busy Book. I went to three nearest branches of National Book Store – Robinsons Magnolia, TriNoma, and Fisher Mall – but they didn’t have it.

I had one last destination: the SM North EDSA branch.

I was surprised to see the brand new National Book Store there.

It’s beautiful.

The shelves and display cases are in mostly white, but red and black and wood are also used. It’s just so bright and spacious and fresh I just wanted to spend the whole day there.

The kids section is particularly cute. The shelves are also in white but some of them are animal-shaped. They are wider and bigger, too, so the covers of the books are displayed, not just the spines.

They also have a waiting/sitting/reading area that is exquisitely designed in a minimalist kind of way. It kind of reminded me of the original Powerbooks, which contributed a lot to my love for books.

Anyway, going back to the Disney Princesses My Busy Book I was looking for, they didn’t have it, as well.

I guess I’ll just look for another NBS branch then.

Oh, but I’ll be back in this NBS branch. I’ll be bringing Sadako with me, too.
