5 THINGS WE LOVE ABOUT PEDRO 'N COI

Pedro ‘N Coi is a Filipino restaurant in Fisher Mall, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City. We have already reviewed some of their dishes; we liked some of them, and now here is a list of the other things that we like about the restaurant owned by beauty queen Shamcey Supsup and her husband Lloyd Lee.

1. Throwback glassware
It’s been a while since we last saw these honey-colored glass plates and coffee glass containers that our lolos/lolas/yayas loved to use as cups. Remember how the coffee granules would get crusty at the bottom? They’d just pour hot water and sugar – voila, coffee.

2. Jeepney-themed tables
Outside the restaurant, there is a couple of tables housed under a jeepney, the front part of which is something the kids would love to hang out in. There’s also one inside.

3. High-energy waiters
The waiters are very pleasant and enthusiastic. They are fast and effective (they refill your drinks even if you don’t ask them). They have this gimmick where they sing when you order their sisig. And we spotted two kinda cute waiters.

4. Their dishes have cool, funny names
Just some examples: Chipangga (kamote chips), May Asim Pa (sinigang na baboy sa sampalok), Kapag May Tiyaga May... (nilagang baka), and Talong and Winding Road (talong pancake).

5. Cool decor
Their decors will surely send you down memory lane. We spotted framed ads of products like Milo and Rocyo (yes, the soup, remember?), komiks, and toys like yo-yo’s, action figures (He-Man!), and Matchbox miniature cars.
