Kenneth is one of my most favorite people on earth. I met him in Davao, around four months ago, when I went there for work. I was participating in an “amazing race” and he was, too. The night before the competition, I met him during dinner, and asked him to suggest for cool places to visit since he’s from there.
The next day, after both our teams lost in the race, we met up, together with my friend Alden, and had a blast going around. I’m not gonna go into details, but let’s just say that Kenneth was the perfect tour guide.
So when he told me weeks ago that he’d be flying to Manila for an event, I knew I had to try and be a good tourist guide, too.
Kenneth arrived yesterday, and I, of course, just had to take some time off my busy work life so we could have dinner at Mann Hann, dessert at Café Breton, and then wine and Cinema One back in the hotel. Alden was supposed to join us but he had a lot of issues.
Today, Alden finally got to join us (he still had a lot of issues, but he also had some free time). I brought them to Jatujak and we all pigged out.
The tom yum was applause-inducing.
The green curry beef was moan-inducing.
The chicken with basil made me want to do a tumbling.
The mango and catfish salad made me want to do a somersault.
Afterwards, we punished ourselves by walking all the way to the hotel.
I’ve already spent a lot of time with Kenny Boy so far, shown him around, and even treated him.
But I still am very far from the awesome tourist guide that he was when I was in Davao.
He knows why.
I still have a couple of days to be the best, however.
