YUMMERS: BIBINGCREPE



I went to Half Moon Café awhile ago, an Asian café in Tomas Morato, which launched one of the best-selling items on their menu: the bibingcrepe. As the name suggests, it is a bibingka and a crepe in one, and it comes in yummy flavors such as choco cheese, peanut butter, and choco mallow. It was the first time I tasted such dessert and while neither the concept nor the actual product was earth-shattering (it was basically a bibingka sandwich), it did taste yummy and was filling—heavy enough to share with someone. They also let us taste the bibingcrisp, which is more of a crepe—only a little toasted, so it’s crispy—and it was love at first bite for me. I think I even let out a little moan after my second bite. It’s thin, tasty, and addicting. I tried the peanut butter and choco cheese flavors, and I just can’t wait to go back and eat some more of this delicious dessert.

The guys from Half Moon also unveiled the largest bibingcrepe in the world. I’d give you the measurements right now, but I can’t find the press kit (LOLers) so let me get back to you.

But trust me when I say that it was enormous. Huge enough to make a bunch of streetkids happy this Christmas.


The funnest part was the decorate-your-bibingcrepe contest, where our gay-rilla creation (made of bibingcrepe, M&Ms, Chocnut, Reese’s, and marshmallows) won us GC’s from Blue Water Day Spa.
