SORRY, NO MASTER SHOWMAN

Armed with two big bags of dark chocolate kisses with mint centers, a couple of bags of chips, marshmallows and some soda, I last night decided to break what has already become a weekend tradition: I skipped Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman, and popped in some DVDs. And why not? I had a stack of interesting ones: Valentine’s Day, The Back-Up Plan, Love Happens, A Single Man, and The Lovely Bones, which we watched first. The plot—a murdered girl narrates her story from heaven—sounded nice, but halfway through the movie I was already getting bored. Blame it on the surreal purgatory scenes. After two hours, the movie ended and I felt cheated. Even Mark Wahlberg didn’t save the movie. Then again, he was fully clothed the whole time. Good thing the mint truffle Hershey’s Kisses were so good.

Lesson learned. Save the DVDs for a Sunday. Master Showman will always be the best.
